Fusidic acid is a bacteriostatic antibiotic
- Fusidic acid shows exceptionally good skin penetration through both intact and damaged skin, enabling it to reach antibacterial concentrations at the site of infection;
- The incidence of adverse events and allergic reactions to fusidic acid is low
- Fusidic acid offers all the properties of an ideal agent to control S. aureus in skin infections.

3.How is it available?
A: In a tube of 10 gms.
4. What are its indications or uses?
A: Treatment of primary and secondary skin infections caused by susceptible organisms
- Impetigo
- Folicullitis
- Erythrasma
- Furunculosis
- Abscesses and infected traumatic wounds.
5.What is the right dosage?
A: Apply to affected area 3-4 times/day until favorable results are achieved. If a gauze dressing is used, frequency of application may be reduced to 1-2 times/day.
6.What is to be done in case of a missed dosage?
A: Continue with the next dose as per schedule.
7.What are the precautions while taking the product?
A: None
8.Which drugs should be avoided along with it?
A: Can be used concurrently with other medication
9.Who cannot take the medicine?
A: Avoid in children below 2 years
10.What are the possible common and rare adverse effects of the medicine?
A: Pruritus, rash, stinging, burning.
11.How to store the medicine?
A: In a cool and dry place.
