1. What is Tacrotopic?
A: It is a topical immunomodulator used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis, facial and intertriginous poriasis and vitilogo.

2. What are the active ingredients?
A:

    Tacrotopic Forte
  • Tacrolimus Ointment - 0.1% w/w

  • Tacrotopic
  • Tacrolimus Ointment - 0.03% w/w

3. How is it available?
A: Tacrotopic Forte ointment is available in a tube of 10g.
Tacrotopic is available in a tube of 10g.

4. What are Indications or Uses?
A: Tacrotopic is indicated in the treatment of:

  • Eczema
  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Facial and Intertriginous Psoriasis
  • Vitiligo

5. What is the right dose?
A: Apply the Tacrotopic or Tacrotopic Forte twice a day, about 12 hours apart
or as directed by your physician.

6. What are Precautions while taking the Products?
A:

  • Use as per doctors direction.
  • Wash hands after applying ointment to the affected area, if hands are not an area for treatment.
  • After application of ointment, minimize or avoid exposure to natural or artificial sunlight (tanning beds or UVA/B treatment).
  • Only meant for the treatment of indications mentioned above.
  • Any signs of adverse reactions should be reported to the physician.
  • Do not apply on wet skin. It should be applied on completely dry skin.
  • Do not apply around or on broken or irritated skin.
  • Do not bandage tightly.
  • Consult with your doctor before / if you:
    • Start taking any new medicines while using Tacrotopic.
    • Start using any other ointment, lotions, or creams on your skin.
    • Are receiving any form of light therapy (phototherapy, UVA or UVB) on your skin.
    • Are using any other type of skin product.
    • Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

7. Which drugs should be avoided along with it?
A: Drugs that should be avoided are erythromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, fluconazole, calcium channel blockers and cimetidine.

8. Who cannot take the medicine?
A:

  • Patient allergic to tacrolimus or any other ingredients present in Tacrotopic or Tacrotopic Forte.
  • Children 2 below years of age.

9. What is the time of taking the medicine, dosage and the usual duration?
A:Apply a thin layer of TACROTOPIC or TACROTOPIC FORTE to the affected skin areas twice daily about 12 hours apart and rub in gently and completely. Treatment should be continued for one week after clearing of signs and symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

10. What are the possible common and rare adverse effects of the medicine?
A:Common side effects: Stinging, soreness, a burning feeling, or itching of the skin treated. These side effects are usually mild to moderate, are most common during the first few days of treatment, and typically lessen if your skin heals.

Less common side effects: Acne, swollen or infected hair follicles, headache, increased sensitivity of the skin to hot or cold temperatures Some people may get skin tingling, or muscle pain. While you are using Tacrotopic, drinking alcohol may cause the skin or face to become flushed or red and feel hot. Call your doctor if side effects continue or become a problem.

11. How to store the medicine?
A: Store Tacrotopic or Tacrotopic Forte at room temperature (59° to 86°F). For instance, never leave the medicine in your car in cold or hot weather. Make sure the cap on the tube is tightly closed. Keep it out of the reach of children.
